Nick Frankland
Nick Frankland has over forty years of accumulated technical knowledge and leadership experience in the Reinsurance industry. He has represented clients across all geographies with a particular focus on the London, Bermuda and Lloyd’s markets where he continues to hold NED and consulting positions. He variously led the UK, Bermuda and EMEA reinsurance operations for Guy Carpenter (the Marsh McLennan subsidiary) and latterly Aon and in these roles sat on their respective Global Executive Committees as well as their UK legal entity boards. Throughout his career he has been a team builder committed to collaborative leadership focused on unlocking value potential and embracing the growth mindset. While at Guy Carpenter he worked with Meta-LUCID to develop the first ‘Future Leaders’ programme of its kind in the UK & EMEA region, designed to recognise and promote the best ‘potential’ leadership talent across multiple countries. In a global insurance market whose core asset is its human capital, recognising and developing future talent is a critical necessity for any organisation seeking to outperform peers and to consistently grow successfully and profitably. Nick will be using his experience to help Meta-LUCID expand into the insurance sector across a range of clients and geographies. He is a member of the Worshipful Company of Insurers and a Vice President of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Sylvia Roberts
Dr. Sylvia del Carmen Roberts is passionate about drawing from the latest motivation science to inform
ways to effectively support and empower individuals and organizations to flourish. She is thrilled to
partner with Meta-LUCID and provide subject matter expertise in psychology, including growth mindset,
its measurement and application, and data analysis and reporting. She is also Founder, Senior
Researcher and Consultant at A Learning Brain, where she offers professional learning and research
consultation to education and corporate groups on growth mindset and other topics in motivation. In
her prior role as the Director of Research and Implementation at Mindset Works, Inc., she was involved
in product R&D and provided program and research support to schools, districts, and organizations
across the U.S. and abroad, drawing many lessons about the facets that facilitate positive shifts in
culture at each level.
She also served as Co-Principal Investigator of a large-scale randomized-
control trial to test the efficacy of a growth mindset intervention for middle school students.
Published results showcased one of the largest gains on achievement due to an educational
intervention, especially for students from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Roberts holds a Ph.D. in psychology
from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Princeton University. She is also
fluent in Spanish.
Kevin Knott
Kevin Knott provides proven subject matter expertise and practical insights into the effective operation and performance of the offshore platform environment. Specifically, he is focused on the critical values and belief systems for supervisory and leadership personnel, to drive a continuous performance improvement culture. He has decades of experience in the oil and gas industry. Starting as a deck worker, he progressed to the position Offshore Installation Manager (OIM). His exposure to all aspects of offshore life has given him the practical knowledge that allows him to purposefully connect to the OIM community, blending both theory and reality to get results. His drive is to build safe and successful offshore working environments built on the concept of a high-performance team ethos. Kevin’s diverse onshore senior management roles afforded him the opportunity to continue to influence the management approach to offshore teams and maintaining the continuous improvement of safety and performance. He will advise Meta-LUCID on the development of their services for the Oil and Gas sectors and provide a lead consulting partner role with clients.
